Akupunktur bei Retinitis pigmentosa: eine umfassende Übersicht Abstract No notable developments in the existing therapeutic approaches for retinitis pigmentosa (RP) exist to date, leaving many patients seeking alternative treatments. Among these alternatives, acupuncture has gained increasing popularity among physicians due to its perceived effectiveness. Acupuncture has been applied in the treatment of RP and has achieved good therapeutic effects, as reflected in the improvement of vision. However, the mechanisms underlying the efficacy of acupuncture in treating RP remains unclear. This study suggests that acupuncture mainly achieves the goal of treating RP by inhibiting photoreceptor cell death, improving retinal blood flow...

Auswirkung von Akupunktur auf die Proteomik der Tränen bei Patienten mit trockenem Auge aufgrund von Bildschirmgeräten Abstract Acupuncture is widely used to treat dry eye disease (DED),but its effect has not been reported in treating video display terminal(VDT)-related dry eye, and the mechanism of acupuncture on VDT-related dry eye is also unknown. In our study, the tear proteome wascompared with identifying possible mechanisms and biomarkers forpredicting acupuncture effectiveness in VDT-related dry eye. The resultsshowed that the ocular surface disease index scores were significantlydifferent between the acupuncture group (AC group) and artificial tearsgroup (AT group) at the end of the study,...

Acupuncture provides additional benefit in dry eye treatment compared with artificial tears, and is associated with evidence of reduced inflammation. One hundred and fifty participants were treated with artificial tears alone, with eight added sessions of acupuncture, or with additional daily oral herbal medicine (Qi Ju Gan Lu Yin, Lycium Derry and Chrysanthemum Beverage) over a one-month period. The acupuncture points used consisted of five local points around the eyes (Chengqi ST-1, Cuanzhu BL-2, Fengchi GB20, Tai Yang M-HN-9, three tear needles) and three distal points on the limbs (Sanyinjiao SP-6, Hegu L.I.-4, Zusanli ST-36). Participants treated with acupuncture were...
