Acupuncture can assist recovery following surgery for colorectal cancer (CRC). Chinese researchers included 22 studies (1,628 participants) in their analysis. The results suggested that the addition of acupuncture following CRC surgery improved recovery of gastrointestinal function. Meta-analyses found significant reductions in time to first bowel sounds, first flatus and first defecation, in both the sham-controlled and non-blinded studies. Abstract Objective To observe the clinical therapeutic effects of acupuncture on chemotherapy-induced hand-foot syndrome (HFS). Methods A total of 60 patients treated with chemotherapy of capecitabine and suffering from the chemotherapy-induced HFS were divided into an acupuncture group and a Vitamin B6 group according to the random number table, 30 cases in each one. In the acupuncture group, after chemotherapy, acupuncture was given at Băihuì (百会GV 20), Hégŭ (合谷LI 4), Wàiguān (外关TE 5), Zúsānlĭ (足三里ST 36) and Ashi points.
