Verbesserung der Ergebnisse bei Depressionen von Hämodialysepatienten durch Akupunktur: Eine randomisierte kontrollierte Studie Abstract Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of acupuncture as a supplementary treatment for mild to moderate depression in hemodialysis patients. Method This multicenter, randomized, controlled, single-masked trial included 64 hemodialysis patients aged 18–75 divided into two groups. One group received genuine acupuncture, while the other received sham acupuncture over 12 weeks. The primary outcome measure was Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) scores; an inclusion criterion was HAMD scores of 10–23. Secondary outcomes included life quality improvements and changes in biochemical markers, such as serum albumin and hemoglobin...

Akupunktur bei neonatalem Abstinenzsyndrom bei Neugeborenen Abstract Background Neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) is a drug‐withdrawal syndrome, mostly occurring after antenatal exposure to opioids. A neonate may be born physically dependent on opioid medications, which causes withdrawal symptoms (such as high‐pitched crying, disruptions in the sleep‐wake cycle and tremors) after birth. This is diagnosed with a standardised withdrawal assessment, such as the Finnegan score. Newborns developing NAS require medical treatment and longer hospital stays after birth than neonates without this condition. Treatments for NAS include multiple multimodal treatments to ease symptoms of withdrawal, such as swaddling, ‚rooming in‘ and breastfeeding. If...

Erfahrungen der Teilnehmer bei der Akupunkturbehandlung von akuten Schmerzen des Bewegungsapparats in einer Notaufnahme: Eine qualitative Auswertung Abstract Objective Acupuncture is an evidence-based pain treatment in clinic settings, but its optimal delivery has not been established in emergency departments (EDs). As part of an adaptive pragmatic randomized controlled trial of ED acupuncture for acute musculoskeletal pain (NCT04290741), we embedded a qualitative evaluation of acupuncture treatment acceptability and suggestions for improvement from study participants receiving acupuncture in the ED. Methods Semi-structured interviews conducted remotely evaluated factors impacting patients’ perspectives, willingness to participate in, and experiences with ED acupuncture. The codebook was...

Wirkung der Akupunktur bei Patienten mit chronisch obstruktiver Lungenerkrankung: Eine multizentrische, randomisierte, kontrollierte Studie Abstract Background Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a common and frequently occurring disease that seriously endangers health, causing a heavy economic burden on patients and society. Acupuncture has been reported to have a therapeutic effect on patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). However, compared with medications, it is difficult to identify a superior therapy. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of acupuncture, conventional drug and acupuncture plus conventional drug in the treatment of COPD. Methods This was...

Die Wirkung der Akupunktur auf die Lebensqualität von Patienten mit Reizdarmsyndrom: Eine systematische Überprüfung und Meta-Analyse Abstract Background Acupuncture has been used to improve the quality of life (QoL) of patients in clinical settings. However, the effect of acupuncture on QoL in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) remains unclear. We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to evaluate the effect of acupuncture on the QoL of patients with IBS. Method PubMed, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Embase, and Web of Science were screened from inception to September 2023. RCTs published in English comparing...

Auswirkungen einer Modifizierung der Beschaffenheit der Akupunkturnadel auf die Akupunkturanalgesie Abstract Objective The analgesic effect of acupuncture has been widely accepted. Nevertheless, the mechanism behind its analgesic effect remains elusive, thus impeding the progress of research geared toward enhancing the analgesic effect of acupuncture. This paper investigated the role of acupuncture needle surface textures on acupuncture’s analgesic effect by creating four experimental acupuncture needles with different patterns of surface augmentation. Methods Four types of acupuncture needles with different surface textures (the lined needle, circle needle, sandpaper needle, and threaded needle) were designed. Additionally, the force/torque measurement system used a robot...

Akupunktur-Dosierung und ihre Korrelation mit der Wirksamkeit bei Patienten mit chronischer stabiler Angina pectoris: Eine systematische Übersicht und Meta-Analyse randomisierter kontrollierter Studien Abstract Objective This systematic review aimed to compare the efficacy of various acupuncture dosages for Chronic Stable Angina (CSA) using randomized controlled trials (RCTs), addressing the unclear relationship between dosage and effectiveness despite acupuncture’s potential. Methods We searched eight bibliographic databases from inception to October 31, 2024, evaluating RCTs comparing acupuncture to placebo or standard care for CSA patients, focusing on angina attack frequency as the primary outcome. Studies were categorized into high (HDG), moderate (MDG), and low...

Modulation der Gehirnaktivitäten bei gesunden Individuen durch Akupunktur am Dickdarm 11 Abstract This study investigated the effect of acupuncture at Quchi (LI11) on brain activities in healthy individuals. Sub-band power and EEG microstate analyses were conducted during pre-acupuncture, acupuncture, needle-retention, and post-acupuncture phases in both the acupuncture group (n = 16) and the control group (n = 18). Four microstate classes (A–D) were identified. Regression analyses and two-factor ANOVAs with Bonferroni correction were performed. The acupuncture group exhibited a significant reduction in beta power during the acupuncture phase. Further analysis revealed that acupuncture at LI11 mainly affected delta, theta, and...

Der Stand der Evidenz in der Akupunktur: Eine Übersicht über Meta-Analysen und systematische Übersichtsarbeiten zur Evidenz der Akupunktur – Aktualisierung 2017 bis 2022 Abstract Introduction Over the last decades, acupuncture research has increased drastically. As a result, it has become more and more difficult to oversee the amount of evidence concerning its effect in various medical conditions. Different comparative reviews aimed to roughly assess individual strength of acupuncture evidence, covering the years 2005 – 2017. Our review intends to assess the level of acupuncture evidence for any medical condition available, concerning the years 2017 – 2022. Methods We searched the...

Akupunktur in der Behandlung der männlichen Unfruchtbarkeit: Ein Überblick Abstract In recent years, there has been a global decline in the quality of human semen, leading to a gradual increase in the incidence of infertility, which significantly impacts men’s health. Due to the complex etiology of male infertility, clinical treatment is predominantly confined to drugs, surgery, and assisted reproductive technology. However, the efficacy of these approaches often falls short of meeting clinical needs, prompting the exploration of new treatment methods. Acupuncture, a crucial component of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), has gained increasing prominence in the treatment of male infertility, yielding...
